The First-Generation Medical Student club (1GMED) at Albany Medical College will be hosting an entire week celebration. First-generation medical students, graduate students, physicians, faculty and scientist’s personal stories and achievements will be showcased on the monitors throughout the college.

A panel discussion featuring first-generation physicians/students will be held to share their journey's to and through medical school. In addition, 1GMED will be hosting a lunch and learn called “med school 101” to help prepare students for success in achieving their next milestones, such as STEP 1, STEP 2, applying for residency.

The goals for the week are to celebrate, build community, as well as facilitate and highlight the success of the first-generation students in the AMC community!
